The Ancient Greek City of Ephesus

We stopped to check these ruins out on our way to the ruins of Ephesus, an ancient Greek city. I don’t remember what this place was called but hopefully Alex does–I’ll see if I can get him to post it in the comments O=]

We found this cool casket in the ruins, like a fancy cemetary!

Ephesus, the ruins of the ancient Greek city

First thing we saw upon entering the ruins (they’re gated off like a big park) was this huge coliseum off to the side. We followed the throng of people ahead of us there…

All the ruins inside the park were just gorgeous! It felt like I was walking around a piece of history. It was all worn down… and felt very mysterious. I guess it made me wonder who the people who used to live there were, how they lived, what they did…

There were a few short tunnels here and there!

Pretty, huh? ^^

New Facebook profile picture!

There were tons of cute kitties running all over the place =3

More pictures from my travels here!

The Greek Side of Cyprus

Alex had the great idea of stopping for 2 days in Cyprus before heading to Ephesus, Turkey. Turns out it was cheaper than taking a train or flight straight from Rome, and that way we got to spend 2 days lounging around on beaches =]

The highlight of our first day was dinner. The barman at our hotel recommended a place next door with amazing fish mezzi (a bunch of small, coordinated dishes.) The stuff was absolutely amazing!!! We must have eaten around 20 courses, but I’ll spare you all the pix and only show you the best ones ;D

Appetizer: assorted dips with hummus and sea food

Fried fish

I don’t usually like crab but this was really tasty!

The restaurant owner was so sweet and insisted he take a picture for us XD

I went back to take a picture of the place the next day. If you ever go to the Greek side of Cyprus, stop by this place!

Kinda feels like all we did in Cyprus was eat and lounge around… wait that’s probably because that’s all we did! We were pretty tired from walking around all day every day the last 2 weeks so this was a nice little rest stop =]

More food!

This place was decorated pretty cutely inside.

Found this cute cat walking around our last day.
