Hawaii Part 1: The North Shore Airbnb

I’m finally getting around to editing and posting my photos from Hawaii! Oahu was amazing and beautiful. We did tons of fun stuff like surfing, stand up paddle boarding and hiking, but this first blog post is about the Airbnb we stayed at the first 4 days of our trip, Top Floor Pipeline Lodge on Farm (we were there for 9 whole days!).

Our first Airbnb was on the North Shore of the island, which is like the countryside – there were few restaurants, numerous food trucks (delicious!) – and wild chickens everywhere. Our Airbnb was amazing too – an organic farm with a view of the ocean!

I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves though…        DSC01996 IMG_20150511_144834

This was our Airbnb housemate/chaperone. We named him Simba.IMG_20150511_144937 IMG_20150511_144955 IMG_20150511_145011 IMG_20150511_145021 IMG_20150511_145037 IMG_20150512_120847

This was a real organic farm with a chicken coop, vegetable garden and everything! On our first day, we got a box of delicious organic produce for $25. There was so much salad, kale, carrots, radishes, turnips and herbs in there we barely ever ate dinner out!DSC01990DSC01988

There were also huts where the owners taught neat classes like baby music class!DSC01991DSC01993

We were warned there were wild boar and goats when we met the owner, but it sounded like they hid so we had no idea we would see any!

Weekend Getaway in Sonoma (Near Napa)

My honey and I decided to escape the city for a weekend in Sonoma to celebrate our first year together and found an adorable Airbnb.

Our host Teitzah was such a sweetheart! She made us a welcome goody bag (which I forgot to take a picture of, of course) filled with local fruit, Trader Joe’s probiotic drinks and some delicious raw dark chocolate. Yum! She even gave us a bottle of rose wine for our anniversary. She was so sweet I didn’t have the heart to tell her we’re not married… we’ve just been dating for a year. We’ll be sure to come back if we do get married though ❤

Her home felt just like a peaceful getaway spa. The colors were so warm and earthy, and she decorated it with beautiful sculptures from Bali and Thailand. Make sure to check out her Airbnb and use this link if you’ve never used Airbnb before. I’ll get a referral for introducing you ;D

If you do stay at the Sea of Bamboo Retreat Center, I highly recommend you book some massages! Teitzah gave me an amazing massage and offered us a package deal: we got to use the spa and hot tub in the backyard for free =] Plus, she went out of her way to find a second massage therapist so we could both get massages at the same time.

It was a great, lazy weekend. We cuddled lots, tried out a couple of restaurants and wondered into a winery the bar tender at Sunflower Caffe recommended: Gundlach Bundschu. (Highly recommend both — the cocktails and duck sandwich at Sunflower are delicious, and we really liked the wine at Gundlach.)

Hi all, just wanted to let you know i arrived in SF safely. Having some computer problems, but other than that everything is going well =]

Here's a picture of the apartment we're renting

Check out the really cute apartment my bosses and I are staying at! You might have to log in to Airbnb to see the pictures but don’t worry, I’ll post some of my own soon!
